So you decided to start doing business on the Internet and now you need to get started from scratch to finally be ready to sell your services or products, but where to start and who can help?

I have been many times through this process and every time it is the same questions I ask myself!

Where do I find the hosting that I need for my Website?
What you need to consider is how big your website is and how much traffic you expect to hitting your website, since we assume you are serious about your new business venture, then you should  decide to find a cheap but reliable and stable dedicated hosting plan. I looked into Liquid Web and The Planet, both have starting plans from $69 and a very low setup fee, since The Planet messed completely up my credit card for not so long a time ago, and are very complicated to deal with if you are outside of the US, then I would recommend Liquid Web.

Now you have your hosting in place and can start uploading your website! Uups, you need to figure out how your website should look and if it would be of benefit for you to use a CMS or Shopping Cart.

    Shopping Cart or CMS?
    So I while I started my business I have been looking at several solutions both in regards to a CMS solution and a regular Shopping Cart solution. It will depend very much on what your business is, I will give you 2 great suggestions here;

If you are going to sell electronic downloads, e-books, products (of any kind) or something else that need to be downloaded or shipped after Payment, then you should look into a shopping cart like OSCommerce which is free at widely supported by millions of people, a much smaller solution and which costs $25 is Pphpldshop.com, it is very easy to install and easy to customize, the support is, sorry to say so, a bit slow, but it works great.

An example of the PHPLD shopping cart can be found here: shop.cclogic.com

If you are going to offer services which don’t can be downloaded immediately or accessed after payment I would defiantly go for a CMS solution, a good CMS software will have a lot of extensions to advanced your needs and is easy to customize and maintain. It is crustily of importance for you to install a CMS which is supported instantly with security updates and buck fixes and where new versions are released on a regular basis. My best suggestion for you is to use :   Joomla is also supported by millions of people and you get everything you need, in fact with Joomla you are able to extend your website to a large corporate professional website with less effort and for a few bucks.

    The Design and Logo
Now you need a good designer, please avoid for any price services which will charge you several thousand dollars, if you just need to get started, I made a very bad experience with a company OGOsense.com they are crocks and took $ 1.800 from me, what they did is looking professional, they will send you massive of e-mails with questionnaires and a lot of other crap you don’t want to look professional. My result was that they then took a cheap template from: Joomla Templates and put it online. Stay away.

No find a good template that fits into what you have in mind you can find many great templates and later on get them customized for less than $100.

For logo design I highly recommend the service of Business Logo, they are fast and very reliable to deal with, the results of their works is professional, the website is here:  BusinessLogo.net

    Accepting Credit Card Payments
Now you are almost done and ready to start selling your services and products on the Internet.
To be able to accept payments on your website I would recommend you to take a look at the marked, and to find a reliable payment processor which is difficult and where you ran the risk to get into a trap. During my more than 9 Years of Experience in the Internet Business, I have seen a lot.

For startup business you should look into 2co.com, paypal.com, alertpay.com and even moneybookers.com, they are all 4 companies which have been in the payment processing business for many years now and they have grown to huge multimillion companies which don’t disappear overnight.

Once you have grown your own business to be a small or even medium sized company with a monthly sales volume of let’s say approximately $15.000 you should look into becoming your own Merchant Account and connect your website directly with a payment gateway, a good start would be cclogic.com they are only working as consultancies, but have been in the business like the first mentioned 4 companies for many years.

They will provide you with the reliable and trusted solution you want.  With the large network of Banks and Payment processors they have, you will be in good hands.

Beside to accept credit cards you should also look into other payment methods, you have optional possibilities to Accept ACH Check processing, Debit Card processing like Visa Electron or Maestro, Bank Transfer payments, Phone Billing and much more… Ask your payment service provider for what other payments methods they offer.

Most important for you is, the payment gateway provider MUST be PCI compliant, here is the official website for the same: https://www.pcisecuritystandards.org/ and at least Level 1, this is not something you need to worry about what it is about, just make sure your Payment Gateway provider is compliant. This is a second level of security for you and your business. If anyone tells you they are in process, or they use HackerSafe.com, RUN RUN RUN and stay away, it is not what we speak about. We want a fully compliant PCI Level 1 payment gateway, and we want to see a VALID certificate.

Now you are ready to get started, please make a short comment on this blog post if you find it informative or if you need  more tips and tricks.

Please also feel free to Visit our Webmaster Forum which includes many of the topics mentioned in this article and where you can discuss what YOU want.

How do you differ from all the other companies?
CCLOGIC LLC is first of all compared to any other company in our industry, an independent consultancy firm, we are not married with any specifically bank or service agent to which we send all our clients. CCLOGOC LLC is extending their network of sub contractors each day and we know almost any aspect of the arena we are battling on.
In the opposite to many Payment Service Providers on the Internet which offer company formation, payment solutions or the opening of bank accounts and advertising strategies, then we have one thing in mind and what counts. If we haven’t put money into the solution we offer, why should our clients do? Our existing is because of the many clients who contact our company each day, we rely on them, and we want their reference on our client list.

CCLOGIC LLC is not in any way involved in any payment processing operations, nor are we involved in the day to day management of any Offshore Company or Offshore

are experts in what they are doing, that’s why we choice them as partners for CCLOGIC LLC.

The services CCLOGIC LLC offers are all in synergy with each other and that’s why we can handle all of them under one umbrella, we use them daily by our self with great success.

    How we operate:
CCLOGIC LLC strives to deliver a fast, professional and reliable service to our existing and new clients, we won’t involve our self in any of our clients operations, and we don’t want to have access to our clients money. Also we want to have the right without any further details or discussion to discontinue the work with a client if we fell they are fooling us into a business we dislike or are just not honest about their entire business case. Most important to us is, we don’t want to waste our time on clients which don’t want to pay for the minutes and hours we are using on them, because they came to us because they had a issue they need to have solved, we didn’t contacted them.

Banks corporate secrecy laws typically impose civil and criminal penalties for unauthorized disclosure of confidential information, including information on the beneficial ownership and control of corporate vehicles. These laws diminish the capacity of authorities to obtain and share beneficial ownership and control information when they not provide mechanisms for domestic and international authorities fulfilling their regulatory/supervisory or law enforcement functions to access records.

Above is part of an article we found on a website of OECD. The purpose of the entire article is to inform people about the illicit use of bank accounts for laundering money or to hide money from tax authorities.
The main purpose for an offshore bank account is to have it opened in the name of the offshore company to be able to get all the benefits from your offshore company operation. Beside the tax benefits and asset protections possibility, often such offshore vehicles are used to be established by people which live in countries where they are unable to open an bank account.

Another widely used reason for opening an offshore bank account and an offshore company is if the business conducted is Internet based. The card associations has divided the world in about 6 regions and prohibit people from one region to clear credit card transactions in another region then where the company and the business is conducted. To work around this problem it is common to open an offshore company which fells into the region of where the Acquiring bank is located with whish the transactions should be cleared.

Other aspects are the legal issues of certain product or services, for example the distribution and selling of replicated products of brands is prohibited in most parts of the world if they are not licensed. In some countries it is however, possible to sell those products; typically China is such a country. To be able to sell such products on the Internet you will need to become a credit card acceptance agreement with a bank in the region where it is legal to sell the product. But those banks (as already explained above) require you to be incorporated in the same country as the Acquiring Bank. To work around this you will need to establish an offshore company for instant in China; since it can be overwhelming to open a company there it could be of benefit for you to have the Chinese entity to be owned by a “more close to you” company which in worth case can be liquidated and in that way not harm you or your economy.

As long as the websites and the server it is hosted on is PCI compliant, and the compliance is maintained on a regular basis, then it is safe to key in your credit card information and other personal information.

Many websites will redirect the card holder to a “shared” or “secure” payment form which is hosted at the payment gateways end, and which (if the PSP is PCI compliant) is secure. In some cases and on large web shops it is sometimes of benefit for the website owner to integrate their website directly with the payment gateway which keeps the card holder on the website which then again will leave the card holder get a better experience in some cases.

However, since PCI hasn’t reached all websites and web shops on the Internet, then you will still find places which don’t redirect you to a secure payment form and which aren’t PCI compliant. This websites are unsecure and you should avoid them for any price. If they for any reason are unable to obtain a valid PCI certificate then you can be assured that it isn’t safe to enter your credit card information there.

I have seen many cases, where those website owners want to have the card holder to be kept on the Website/web shop without being redirected to any secure payment form, due to a more professional look and various other reasons, as they explain. I even heard that some want to store the card information because they want to use it for marketing and fraud prevention. However at the end of the road they didn’t care about the security, people think that just because the card information is encrypted then it is safe to store it, to those people, you are SO WRONG, it take so much more to get the proper security implemented to avoid any security breach or even avoid hackers to get the information. It is a task which many think they can overcome but they quickly see that it will cost a few bugs to get it done and because of additional expenses they just leave it and pray that nothing happens or even just don’t care about it.

It isn’t that expansive for a website owner to get compliant and have the proper security and patches applied to your server, and you can find some low cost providers like hackersafe which will help you to be and stay complaint. In my opinion a few thousand dollars should be worth it.

Many people will try to tell you other stories and have found the key to a short cut, don’t believe them; you have to follow the PCI compliance regulations which I already provided a link for.

“Many offshore banks have very strict rules on who they accept as their customers and contrary to popular belief they don’t accept just anyone as long as they have money! They have their reputation to maintain as a reliable and trustworthy financial institution and it would not be acceptable to them to allow criminals to use their services. Opening an offshore company can give you privacy or anonymity, the confidentiality laws of these jurisdictions are usually very strong and are a legal method of minimizing the tax amount you have to pay each year. “

This is what we wrote in one of our articles for not long time ago, and it is true, almost any bank in an offshore jurisdiction has that strict rules and regulations that they simply are unable to enter into the Merchant Acquiring business. Offshore banks will not be able to obtain a license to clear Visa or Mastercard credit cards often because they wouldn’t be able to withdraw the money from the card holders due to for instant European banks would decline such requests.

For instant if you get a Merchant Account in the Philippines or in Mauritius which both are great known offshore jurisdictions and which also have a license to do credit card clearing for each country, then you will often face the problem that your customers can’t pay with their credit or debit card. This due to the fact that many banks for instant in Europe or in the US simply decline such request because those countries are knows for scam and frauds.

However the problem can be solved very simple. You can become a Merchant Account with some banks in Europe and in countries which aren’t black listed in other banks around the world, once you have this merchant account you can ask the agent or the bank with which you have the merchant account to transfer your funds to an offshore bank account for instant in Cyprus.

Don’t make the mistake and open a Merchant Account in your local bank and ask them to transfer the money to your offshore bank account which might be in any of the different offshore jurisdictions, because they won’t do that.

By using the above model, you will need to face that your payment processing rates and fees might be much higher then what you can get them to in your local bank, but this should make it up with the TAX benefits you get through your Offshore Company. Don’t be fooled by low budget payment processors and payment service providers which promise you a offshore merchant account with a processing rate for instant of 4% or even lower, that’s simply not possible.

Also all the so called “free” service that tell you they will process your Visa and Mastercard credit cards for 3% flat rate, no monthly and no setup fees, they will process the cards but don’t transfer the money to your offshore bank account, and even if they would like to do that, then their financial institution will decline that request.

As solid Offshore solution for instant in Cyprus isn’t easy to get done. It needs the experience and knowledge from people which have been working in both the Merchant Acquiring and the offshore company formation business sectors, There are only a limited number of Offshore Service Providers which can help you and also assure you to become the real and right solution, many other will fool you into something you have better been without.

For the real solution which both it secure and reliable contact cclogic.com the experts in Offshore Merchant Services

This is a common question all over the Internet and especially in many e-commerce forums. We will try to clarify this question in this article and hope it will be of benefit for you and a better understanding.

The website need a way for your customers to order your services and products, this is often managed by installing one of the many shopping carts available for instant OSCommerce or Cube Cart. Those are very easy to install and only take minutes to get online, the difficult part is to add your products, pricing and of course the design.

A good thing to remember is that you want to show your customers that you are accepting credit card payments and that you are honest. The credit card regulations demand you to put up the credit card logos on your website that you are able to accept now. Also you will need to enter your contact and company details at somewhere where it is easy for your customers to find it. Finally you will need to implement your Terms and Conditions, your return policy. A good idea is also to have a privacy statement on your website, which you of course need to apply to.

Once you have managed above, you will need to have a payment gateway integrated, this can be something like authorize net or a 3rd party payment processor like 2co. If you decide to go with a regular payment gateway you will need to find a Merchant Account with a bank that supports the payment gateway you choice. Most Payment Gateway providers already have established relationship to the banks that supports their payment gateway. If you choice to integrate a 3rd party processor then you only need to worry about that, you don’t need to look for a merchant account too. Many payment gateways and 3rd party payment processors have a readymade plug-in for the major shopping cart and billing systems, so it is very easy to get them integrated with your website.

As soon as the integration is done, you will need to contact the payment gateway provider or 3rd party payment processor to make some test transaction, this is of great benefit for both parties since you need to make sure that the credit card transactions are passed without problems or errors to the bank to be processed.

Now you are almost done, make sure your are switching from the test environment to the live system. Often it is a demand from the payment service providers that while you are integrating your website with them, you will need to do so on the test platform and once everything is working you will need to switch to the live environment. The test and live environment is identical, so you can be sure that if it works on the test then it also works live.

A thing to consider is PCI compliancy, which you need to take seriously, if you want your customers to enter their credit card information directly on your website, then it is often needed to be compliant, you can read much more about to be PCI Complaint at the link we provided.

With a Merchant Account you will be contracted directly with the Acquiring bank, an Acquiring Bank is the one that finally will withdraw the money from the card holder and credit it your bank account.

With a Merchant Account you will also be assured that the financial institution or Acquiring Bank that handles your money will be regulated by Federal Banking Regulations which often protects you against losses of your money. I say often because 2008 and 2009 showed us the opposite, but under normal circumstance your money is safe in the bank.

You will need to contract with a Payment Service Provider which facilities you with a payment gateway to transmit the credit card transaction to the Acquiring Bank; you will have the benefits that most payment gateways will offer you a wide range of services like real time transaction overview and anti fraud tools to protect you from fraudulent orders.

Also most Acquiring Banks offer you other payment methods then just to accept credit card payments on your websites, most of them offer debit card payments for instant payments made by Visa Electron or Maestro, other payment methods could by ACH check processing, local debit cards country specific.
Finally by contracting directly with the bank you will need to be approved by them, which in most case isn’t any issue any longer, but they might have some stricter demands.

With a third party merchant account or 3rd party payment processor you won’t have all the mentioned features but you will have other benefits. For instant it is much easier and faster to get approved with a 3rd Party processor since they will do the merchant underwriting and take the risk on behalf of the merchant.

Some business models and sectors are simply not accepted by the banks directly, they require you to go through a 3rd party payment service provider with has specialized itself in the fields of certain businesses.
Most 3rd party payment service providers offer their services to the Adult Entertainment and Online casino business and have for that purpose incorporated mechanisms to protect merchants against chargebacks and other type of frauds.

The most different aspects of a 3rd party solution are:
You will be paid directly by the 3rd Party Merchant Account provider.
They will do the risk scoring of your transactions and the risk assessment of your business case.
The 3rd party payment processor will have way higher processing fees then you would get with a Merchant Account by an Acquiring bank, it can vary with 10% in differences.

If you are looking for a Payment Gateway and a Merchant Account then cclogic.com is able to help you, also if you are in the Adult Entertainment or Pharmacy business, contact us today.

Most merchant accounts have a cancellation fee, mainly these are fixed amounts. The costs of setting up and operating a merchant account for a business can be expensive; this fee helps recover some of the losses if a merchant cancels, particularly in the beginning. Providers will offer to reduce or discard this fee should you have unresolved problems or issues; check with them as to their specific policy.

Take notice of how the company treats you. If they are quick and informative in answering your questions then this will probably be how they go about their business; if they don’t reply quickly or answer the questions then try another service, there are plenty out there.

Before you decide on the merchant account suited to your business, understanding a little about merchant accounts should be high on your priority list as monthly fees can differ immensely. The more you know and understand your merchant account, the better you will control your business. There are many factors to consider when looking at merchant accounts, amongst them the ease with which the account is set up, how simple it is to operate and the reputation and professional attitude of the merchant account provider. Never underestimate the importance of an anti-fraud system as chargeback penalties from fraudulent transactions can be high and will cut into your business profits if not controlled. Check out the internet for information on merchant accounts and anti-fraud systems.

    Merchant Account Comments Off

Merchant accounts provide an anti-fraud and security protection system. Included should be a Verisign SSL Certificate that provides secure e-commerce and communications for web sites and Address Verification Service (AVS) that looks up valuable address and zip code information on the cardholder. AVS is compulsory by Visa and MasterCard on all keyed accounts where cards are not going to be swiped and will help protect your credit card transactions and your site.

When researching merchant accounts don’t just go for the cheapest one you can find. Cheap merchant accounts won’t offer the services that more expensive ones have; check out the features attached to each to see if they are worth the money. Also some account providers will offer a low rate to entice you into choosing their account, but then will increase this rate after a few months. Look out for any hidden fees that haven’t been mentioned or advertised up front by the account provider. Some merchant accounts have penalties if you decide to cancel or increase the rates if volume targets aren’t met. Junk fees can be disguised by using a variety of names, such as security fee, conversion fee, excessive transactions fees, discount rate fees or over the limit fee, so verify what these are before you settle on an account
